Valderrama is one of Spain's most famous courses, home for the very wet 1997 Ryder Cup, where Europe prevailed with Seve Ballesteros as their charismatic captain.
It was one of the great moments in European golf, and Valderrama continues to provide plenty of drama as a regular stop on tour.
It's tough, tight fairways surrounded by ancient cork trees, well routed making players think their way around, small hard greens and this week a stiff swirling round making par 71 closer to 75.
Today there are only 4 players under par half way through Friday, Jon Catlan an American is at -3 on course, two shots ahead of Jamie Donaldson (69) from Wales, Connor Syme (72)the Scot and bubbly Spaniard Pablo Larrazabal (70) all at -1 in the clubhouse with the late wave now on course and the cut projected for +7.
