In Sioux Falls, South Dakota Mike Weir continues his Senior Tour rookie season with an opening -1 69 T24th. He is 4 shots out of the lead held by the legendary Miguel Jimenez, Dicky Pride and David Toms all with -5 65's.

Sadly, John Daly has been diagnosed with bladder cancer. A bad back have limited his play, kidney stones were the culprit, and during treatment the cancer was discovered. He had what they could find removed, then he had 8 days of intrusive chemotherapy.

Doctors say there is an 85% chance it will return in 3 months. Daly says he is still struggling to give up smoking despite the severity of the cancer.
