Joe Durant, Tommy Gainey who was 3rd last week, Carl Pettersson, John Rollins, Nick O'Hern and David Duval are all a shot back with 67s.
Luke Donald, bidding to become world #1 again this week shot -4 68 along with Matt Bettencourt, Webb Simpson, Jason Dufner, Charles Howell and 2002 winner K.J. Choi.
Notables...Brandt Snedeker last week's winner , +5 77. He had a triple bogey on the par-3 ninth when he hit his tee shot in the water.
Rickie Fowler and Steve Stricker each had -2 70s, Graeme McDowell +1 73, and Vijay Singh +2 74
John Daly was doing OK until he tincupped the 16th with 2 in the water for a triple on his way to +9 81.
