Svensson's shot of the day, Varner leads jam packed leaderboard at RBC Heritage....live scoring

PGA Tour: RBC Heritage Sunday leaderboard here

On moving day at the RBC Heritage when all the TStorms predicted gave Harbour Town a miss, Harold Varner made the most of the benign conditions with a 63 to sit atop the jam packed leaderboard by a shot at -10. Varner won with a tremendous 90' putt at the 72nd to beat Bubba Watson earlier this year in Saudi Arabia, a fact missed by most of the American pundits this week who say he is looking for his first professional win.

As for the Canadians, Adam Svensson and Corey Conners moved up to 4 shots off the lead, while Adam Hadwin and Roger Sloan slipped back.

Svensson's card featured 2 eagles, a hole out from 180 yards at the 10th, and a shot of the day candidate, his 275yd approach over the trees and water at the par 5 15th to 4 feet! for an eagle 3 on his way to a -4 67 that moved  him up 10 spots T13.

Conners found the water with his tee shot at the par3 14th leading to a double bogey 5, but had 5 birdies in 8 holes on the front nine leading to his -4 67 to move up a spot, also T13, 4 shots off the lead.

Adam Hadwin was steady with 8 pars and a birdie on the front nine on his way to -1 70 but lost 16 places on a day of low scoring, while Roger Sloan had 3 bogey's on the back nine to drop 33 places T56 with a +1 72 -2 total.

I mentioned the leaderboard is jam packed. In form Irishman Shane Lowry leads 3 players at -10, there is a pack of 4 at -9 including past champion Matt Kucher, then 4 at -8 including Tommy Fleetwood and Jordan Spieth and 9 more including the Canadians at -7, jjust 4 back.

WEATHER:  Hardly any wind, mid 70's, partly cloudy means Harbour Town will be under siege today, yesterday I counted 61 players all under par until you get to Roger Sloan's +1 72 in 56th place. There were lots of 65,66, 67's so expect someone to go really low today.

I like Shane Lowry's chances today. He was 2nd at the Honda, 12th at the Valspar and T3 at the Masters and he made 8 birdies on Saturday so I'd say he's as due as anyone in the race.
