Henderson battles to make the weekend at Chevron Championship, Saturday live scoreboard

LPGA : Chevron Championship SATURDAY scoreboard here

These opening rounds have been a battle for Brooke Henderson, she's T48 72 71 -1 and has 8 shots to  make up on the lead of a Japanese player you might remember won the 2019 Women's British Open, Hinako Shibuno 69 66 -9 who has a jam packed, star studded field lined up behind her as the last weekend at Mission Hills for this Chevron Championship begins.

A closer look at her card shows 7 birdies over 2 rounds but 6 bogey's and none more untimely than her bogey bogey finish on Friday. So far every time she takes a step forward, she takes 2 back. In her final 8 holes she made 3 birdies, but lost them all to 3 bogey's for example.

Her fairways hit 12/14 was better as were her greens in regulation 13/18 but 31 putts were 4 more than Thursday.

She begins play today well down the field (T48) at 10.01 PST (1.01pm EST) and with no pressure she can relax and enjoy this last weekend at Mission Hills where it all began in 1972 and became a major in 1983. Her friend , Canadian Hall of Famer, Sandra Post won this event in 1978 and 79.

Maude Aimee Leblanc missed the cut with 74 78.

No sponsor could be found to keep the event here, Chevron stepped up on the condition they would move it to their HQ in Houston  in 2023.

The weather for the next 2 days is hot and sunny, nothing as bad as the 42*c last year that had no spectators, caddies allowed to use carts, and forest fires burning up parts of California's west coast.
