Quiet starts for Henderson, Leblanc at Chevron Championship... full leaderboard

 LPGA: Chevron Championship leaderboard here

Out in the California desert at Mission Hills on yet another picture perfect day, considering the tumult that March brings to her Canadian home in Ontario, Brooke Henderson opened her challenge at the 1st LPGA major of the year, and the last at this iconic venue at Rancho Mirage with an even par 72 T48, 6 strokes off the lead of -6 66 Minjee Lee and Jennifer Kupcho.

Brooke playing her first tournament with her new 46" Ping driver hit 9/14 fairways, and only 9/18 greens in regulation, but only used 27 putts. Her average distance off the tee was 276yds, not far off the norm.

Starting on #10 with Lydia Ko who shot -4 68, Brooke made back to back bogey's at 12,13 and got a birdie back at 15, then two more at at 2 and 6 to go to -1, however a late bogey at the 9th left her well back at even.

Playing earlier her compatriot Maude Aimee Leblanc made 5 bogey's mixed with 3 birdies to finish T78 +2 74.

Henderson and Ko are out early today 8.27am off the 1st tee, while Leblanc can sleep in, off the 1st tee at 1.59.

The early cut line is projected at +1, so both players will be looking to improve on their starts.
