Slow starts for Henderson. Leblanc at a windy LOTTE Championship.. full leaderboard

 LPGA: LOTTE Championship leaderboard here

If you've ever been to Hawaii you will know the trade winds blow almost every day and yesterday was no different as they picked up at 30mph and buffeted the Hoakalei CC on the island of Oahu making scoring difficult.

Playing the course backwards at 7.44am, Brooke Henderson was out in -1 35 with 2 birdies and a bogey, then after another birdie 4 at the 1st she was in good shape, until those winds picked up, back to back bogey's at 6 and 7 and a double at the par 3 9th coming in with 39, this year's start at the LOTTE Championship wasn't quite what the two time champion had in mind, +2 74 T73 and forced to play catch up.

The lead is -6 66 for the Aussie Hannah Green who made 8 birdies.

Henderson hit 13/14 fairways and only used 27 putts, but just 9/18 greens in regulation. She plays at 12.39 off the 1st tee today with Thailand's Atthaya Thitikul -1 71

Maddie Szeryk

Rookie Maddie Szeryk who is off the 1st at 12.17 today, is T63 +1 73 while Maude Aimee Leblanc (1st tee 1.12pm today) is T96 +3 75.

Defending Champion Lydia Ko was at -3 69. "The wind picked up quite a lot on my final 9 which was the front nine today, so it made it a lot more difficult for everyone."

One of Brooke's playing partners Danielle Kang withdrew with a sore back.

The cut is projected at +1 as round 2 begins today.
