Play suspended at Senior Open Championship

While there are nothing but blue skies in southern Ontario it is absolutely pouring at venerable Sunningdale outside London, England site of this years Senior Open Championship

As a result play was suspended at 1300hrs or 8am est due to course flooding.

There is an eight way tie for the lead at -5 with Colin Montgomerie joining the group at -2 through 12 holes today before play was halted.

Bernhard Langer won this event by 13 shots last year, he  is in the lead group as is Miguel Jimenez and a rare appearance from Jeff Sluman.

The forecast is grim for today, but Sunningdale does drain well and it is light until about 9pm at this time of year, so they might be asked to go out again.
