Like the Bob Hope (now the Humana Challenge) this week's first major of the season will always be known as the Dinah Shore, part of Dinah Shore week in Palm Springs California, which had for years been named for the legendary singer and is now called the ANA (All Nippon Airways) Inspiration Championship.

It started in 1972 as the Colgate Dinah Shore, then became the Nabisco Dinah Shore in 1982, the Kraft Nabisco in 2002 and the ANA last year. Lexi Thompson defends on the Dinah Shore course at Mission Hills at one of the biggest sporting events of the year attended by the lesbian community who have a full week of activities.
Lydia Ko is bidding to become the youngest winner of a major in golf. Alena Sharp is our lone Canadian..

A strong field has gathered on the Houston GC down in Humble Texas some, like the 5 Canadians in the field taking a final winning shot to get to Augusta, many who are already in the Masters field choosing to compete on the course's lightning fast undulating greens in part to prepare for next week.

Adam Hadwin, Graham DeLaet, Roger Sloan, David Hearn and Nick Taylor are playing while Mike Weir is still working on the tightness in his surgically repaired right elbow.

Jimmy Walker is taking the week off, while many who were at the Valero including Jordan Speith and Phil Mickelson are in the field.

Weather forecast  Thursday, Friday hot (mid 80'sF), humid with showers possible on Friday....Saturday, Sunday less humid (mid 70'sF) partly cloudy, showers possible Sunday.
