Compton, Day lead Hearn by a shot at rain delayed Zurich Classic

There is a lot of golf to be played today at this rainy Zurich Classic south of New Orleans, the question is will mother nature co-operate.

Erik Compton (65) birdied three of five holes after a nearly six-hour rain delay, giving him a share of the lead with Jason Day (65) early in the third round at -13, a shot ahead of Justin Rose, Blayne Barber, Jerry Kelly and David Hearn at TPC Louisiana when play was suspended because of darkness. Barber finished eleven holes, Hearn seven, Rose six and Kelly five

Saturday was the third consecutive day rain has either halted or suspended play as a strong storm downed at least one tree and toppled tables. Play was halted around noon and resumed at 5:57 p.m. and was suspended for the day at 7:32 p.m.

Play is scheduled to resume at 8:30 a.m EST today, and sun and a high near 30*c are forecast. The players will not be repaired for the final round.
