Young leads by 5 shots Taylor 2nd, Pendrith T5 at Cadillac Championship.. 36 hole results

PGA Tour : Cadillac Championship Leaderboard Tee Times

Two Canadians are right in contention as the field chases in form leader Cameron Young who has shot 64 67 -13.

The American has been in and around the leaderboard all spring.

February 22, T7 Genesis at Riviera,  March 8th T3 AP Invitational, March 15th 1st Players, April 12th T3 Masters was his red hot record.

While Matt Fitzpatrick went on his historic record breaking run 1st Valspar, RBC Heritage, Zurich Classic and is off this week, Young has continued in his absence.

However he is cautious, "It doesn't matter around this course if you have a 4 or 5 shot lead, you might as well play like you are 4 behind" will be his gameplan, and you know the pack will likely close the gap on Saturday as is so often is the case.

Nick Taylor followed an opening 66 with a -2 70, T2. He was out in -3 33 with a chip in eagle 3 at the par 5 8th, however he stalled coming in with bogey's at 11th and 18th for 37.

Taylor Pendrith has been fairly quiet so far this year, however today with 6 birdies, a lone bogey 34, 33 -5 67 he is 5th at -6

Canadians

Nick Taylor 2nd  66 70 -8

Taylor Pendrith T6   71 67 -6

Sudarshan Yellamaraju T16  74 66  -4 ( First off the tee on perfect greens he was an amazing -9 on his round, until dropping  shots on his last two holes for the 66.)

Corey Conners T26 73 69  -2

****Notes

*Look at Alex Fitzpatrick, 72 66 -6 in his PGA Tour debut.

*Justin Rose and his much ballyhooed McLaren clubs is still breaking them in apparently, T69  74 75 +5

* Jordan Spieth 65 71 -8 and Alex Smalley 65 71 -8 join Nick Taylor T2.

* Kurt Kitayama had the round of the day playing first with Yellamaraju, moving up 50 places with -8 64

Opinion

* Cam Young has made just 1 bogey so far this week driving it long and straight, and putting the lights out, if that continues today it doesn't matter what any of the pack do..

* Nick Taylor -8 is in the final pairing with Young -13 at 1.35pm.
