FINAL EDIT 2026/05/03>>>>
It took 70 starts, a lot of losses, a lot of practice a lot of nerve and a lot of heart, and you could see all of that pour out of the tall Swede Mikael Renberg as he holed his 5 foot winning putt, to finally get it done.
The 33-year-old Swede, making his 70th start on the DP World Tour, held off playing partner Daniel Rodrigues with a final round of 69 at a rain-swept National Golf Club in Belek, Antalya.
His 66 73 70 69 -10 was enough for his first win on this DP World Tour, he wins an extra $200,000 for winning the Asian Tour, he is off to Philadelphia to play the US PGA Championship, he is exempt for 2 years, with a chance for a DP World Tour top 10 which comes with PGA Tour membership.
His life has just changed.
"This is a dream come true, I've been dreaming about this for so many years. My feelings on this last hole, I almost felt I wanted to throw up."
It came down to a battle between Lindberg, Rodrigues and Guido Migliozzi, with the Italian -8 and three behind Lindberg with three to play.
The leader bogeyed the 15th, allowing Rodrigues to halve the deficit while Migliozzi made a good up-and-down for par at the 16th.
Rodrigues was unable to get up and down from a bunker at the 16th, leaving Lindberg two shots ahead once more.
Migliozzi was unable to find a birdie over the final two holes, the Italian improving the clubhouse target slightly to -8 but visibly frustrated not to increase the pressure on Lindberg.
Rodrigues' long birdie putt at the last slid just by the right of the hole, leaving Lindberg three putts to win it and though he left the first well short, the second safely found the heart of the hole to leave him emotional on the green.
