With defending champion Jennifer Kupcho in at -6 66 along with Ayaka Furue, Cheyenne Knight, Frida Kinhult, and Lindsey Weaver-Wright all tied for the first round lead, it was a good start for the two Canadians in the Meijer LPGA Classic on the Blythefield CC course in Lansing, Michigan.
Maddie Szeryk T10 -4 68 with 6 birdies and just 2 bogey's. She only hit 9/13 fairways and 12/18 GIR and used 27 putts.
Brooke Henderson, twice a winner of this event T22 -3 69, 5 birdies and 2 bogey's. She hit 11/13 fairways and 14/18 GIR, but used 30 putts.
