Valero Texas Open leaderboard here.
The dreaded "get in the hole" made several appearances at the Valero Texas Open on Saturday as local lad, Jordan Spieth continues "the coronation" that the few spectators and of course NBC Sports so badly wants to announce later today.
He's tied with English star Matt Wallace, making a rare PGA Tour start at -12 after they both posted -5 67 with Charlie Green, the hottest of the three at -10 after 66 65 in his last 2 rounds, and he won this event in 2016.
Spieth has gone 83 starts since he last won, most of them lost in golf's "loss of confidence" wilderness, but has been back in form most of this season, several times tied for the lead after 54, before flopping on Sunday's.
Wallace, a stalwart on the European Tour has 4 wins on that circuit, is playing this week in preparation for his 4th Masters next week, and he did finish T3 at the 2019 PGA Championship.
Canadians: Meanwhile Corey Connors (11.07 #1) played like the defending champion yesterday, an immaculate -5 67, with just one bogey, he is T17 -4. Adam Hadwin (10.12am #1) shot 71,T26 -2 and Nick Taylor (10.56 #10) 74 T55 +1.
Weather: The rain that delayed play for over two hours on Saturday is long gone, expect an overcast day, with a breeze SE around 15kph.
