Valero Texas Open Saturday TEE TIMES / live scoreboard here
When play began on Friday all six Canadians were around the cut line, I mentioned they all would need good days if they wanted to stay around.
Coming off good weeks in the Dominican, David Hearn and Michael Gligic who nearly won it, will be disappointed with 73 77 +6 to miss out, along with Roger Sloan 72 75 +3. The cut fell at +2.
Adam Hadwin 70 73 (10.27am #1) and Nick Taylor 73 70 (10.38 #1) are both T23 -1. Defending champion Corey Connors (10.27 #10) had 5 bogey's in his 74 on Friday, just getting in at +1 T44.
The leader at -9 is veteran American Cameron Tringale 66,69 with England's Matt Wallace and Jordan Spieth next at -7. Spieth of course continues to steal all the headlines at home in Texas.
There are 12 players within 5 shots of the lead heading into moving day, with the Masters looming next week. Henrik Stenson missed another cut as his woes continue this year, so did Phil Mickelson who'll be moving into his digs at Augusta earlier than expected.
A cloudy breezy Saturday is in the forecast with a slight chance of the odd shower.

Long gone are the days when you'd hope for a Dave Barr, Dan Halldorson, or Jim Nelford to make the cut!
ReplyDeleteThat's for sure, both our men's and women's games have come a long way and while Brooke and Alena excel on the LPGA Tour we have several others maturing on the Symetra, and Adam Svensson along with Taylor Pendrith will son be on the PGA Tour
