As usual in Hawaii the wind was brisk during yesterday's opening round at the LOTTE Championship where Brooke Henderson is vying for her 3rd straight title.
It will be made more difficult since the LPGA and sponsors have moved it from Ko Olina GC which she owned, over to Kapolei GC, which she describes as looking a lot by Ko Olina until you play and discover more sloping greens and elevation changes.
Playing in the morning Brooke hit every fairway and every green in regulation, but in the story of her game so far in her career she needed 32 putts for a -4 68 T14.
The lead is shared at -8 by Philipino Yuku Saso and American Brittany Altomare both with 64's. Nelly Korda 65 and her older sister Jessica 67 were other scores on a tightly packed leaderboard.
Canadians: Alena Sharp -1 71, Anne Catherine Yanguay E 72, Jaclyn Lee +3 75 were the other Canadian scores.
