Tony Finau leads after round 1 at -6 64 after playing in the morning before the heavy winds arrived changing the course completely in the afternoon.
Roger Sloan posted a super -5 65 to tie the local hero, Jordan Spieth who has rediscovered his putting for 2nd place.
Mac Hughes is T13 -2 68, Nick Taylor, Ben Silverman and Corey Connors are all T21 at -1 69, Mike Weir T51 +1 71.
