After playing in a 36 hole US Open qualifier in Dallas, Mike Weir and Nick Taylor have qualified for this year's championship in a few weeks time at Pebble Beach.
It's the first major Weir has qualified for since 2013. He does play the Masters where he has a lifetime invitation for his 2003 win. He T28 the last time he played the US Open in 2013.
Taylor was the sectional co-medalist with a -10 score. He last played the US Open in 2009 when he was the low amateur.
No Canadians are exempt this year but there are several more qualifiers including one at Rattlesnake Point the Monday of the RBC Canadian Open.
