Adam Hadwin was not beaten this week at the Dell Technologies Match Play in Austin, Texas after halving with Berndt Wiesberger last evening to run his record to 1-0-2, 4 points but he was edged out by Kevin Kisner who beat an out of sorts Dustin Johnson 4&3 for a 2-0-1 record worth 5 points.
Click the link above for the 32 players remaining who begin their 16 knock out matches at 9am (EST) this morning. It also has all the results from Friday's play which include:
Rory McIlroy being soundly beaten 5&3 by the little lefty Brian Harmon
Phil Mickelson over Rafa Cabrera Bello 1up
Kiradech Aphibarnrat going undefeated beating Jon Rahm 4&3
Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter and Justin Thomas also completing an undefeated week
Patrick Reed edging Jordan Spieth 2&1
Here are some thoughts on today's matches.
Brian Harmon and Bubba Watson are both lefty's and that's where the comparison ends. They are the first match out. Harmon is short off the tee relying on a deadly short game and of course Bubba is simply Bubba.
Sergio Garcia is the favourite to beat Kyle Stanley who squeaked in via a playoff.
It will be a significant upset if Si Woo Kim beats Justin Thomas
Patrick Reed is the pick of many to win this tournament, but do not underestimate Alex Noren the Swede who lives in Florida, he is a very tough opponent and has only had 1 bogey all week and is leading the putting stats.
Ian Poulter is trying to turn his year around and so far is 3-0 with confidence surging. I think he will beat Louis Oosthuizen who also has a magnificent match play record for the President's Cup team
Bryan Angus.
