What a feather in Adam Hadwin's cap, beating defending champion Dustin Johnson 4&3 to improve his chances of moving into the weekend as the winner of Group 1. His record is 1-0-1, so is undefeated so far at this WGC Dell Technologies Match Play.
Today he plays Brent Wiesberger who is 1-1-0. Dustin Johnson is out of it with 2 defeats 0-2-0, and he plays Kevin Kisner who is the same as Adam at 1-0-1, so the winner will be decided today, with a sudden death playoff if there is a tie.
Adam, Wiesberger or Kisner could win it today, Johnson cannot.
After his round Hadwin had this to say: " I played extremely solid all day, I made the putts I needed to keep momentum on my side. I expected DJ to play a lot better than he did, but I played really steady golf "
Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed kept their chances alive by winning their matches for a second straight day to set up a big match today to determine who wins the group.
Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson still have life, Ian Poulter is 2-0-0 and with a win today over out of form Kevin Chappell will move into the round of 16 tomorrow. Other European Tour members are also 2-0-0. Alex Noren, Tyrrell Hatton, Paul Casey, Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Sergio, and Francesco Molinari.
