After a night of heavy rain in the Algarve, play was delayed until 10am local time this morning, and as I mentioned yesterday the field was under a shot gun start and Andy Sullivan became the first man to win three European Tour events this season as he claimed a stunning wire-to-wire victory at the Portugal Masters.
The Englishman came into the final round with a five shot lead and a 66 extended that to nine shots over Chris Wood as he finished on -23 to become the fifth wire-to-wire winner of the season and blew away the record winning margin at the event which had been Alexander Levy's three shot victory last year.
The win moves Sullivan into the top 50 of the World Rankings and means he has three wins in 23 events after not claiming a victory in his first 84 on the European Tour and he will celebrate tonight with his parents and other family who are with him in Portugal for a holiday.
On another note, Lee Westwood who split up with his long time wife Laurae this summer has moved back to England after 3 years in Palm Beach, Florida to be closer to his two children. She is living back in Edinburgh with the kids, Sam14 and Poppy10.

Westwood is reportedly dating a 38 year old model Helen Storey as they have a mutual connection in Graham Wylie, the Sage Group co-founder, who owns Close House golf course near Newcastle, where Westwood is the resident professional and is married to Storey's sister Andrea. He was not in the field this week.
