Justin Rose leads UBS Hong Kong Open after two rounds

The second round of play at the UBS Hong Kong Open is over with some familiar names at the top.

Justin Rose, ranked world #7, has fired a 66 to go with his opening 65 for a narrow one shot lead (-9) at Hong Kong Golf Club over Lucas Bjerregaard of Denmark (66) and his pal Ian Poulter (66) and China's Lu Wei-chih (69) a further shot back.

Poulter had to make a last minute entry this week after dropping out of the top 50 in the World Rankings he suddenly had to play to guarantee he played the 13 European Tour events necessary to secure his membership for 2016. After some frantic phone calls, Rich Beem playing on a sponsors exemption gave up his spot so Poulter could play, but not before he managed to procure a passport in just 4 hours... Now you try doing that !! Poulter won this event in 2010.

For those of you who are wondering, Lucas Bjerregaard has three top tens in his last five starts and is a big hitting Dane with a fine touch.

Up and coming stars and indeed Rookie of the Year contenders Matthew Fitzpatrick and Anirban Lahiri both shot second consecutive 67s and are at -6 alongside YE Yang (66)

Graeme McDowell is playing better and as a result is at -5 under after a 69, meanwhile Patrick Reed fired a 69 and is at -3 but Dustin Johnson missed the cut at +1 after a 72.

Reed is playing a lot over the next month as he needs 13 European Tour events to keep his card for next year, this week is his 10th.
