The LPGA tour are in Taiwan, the third stop on their 5 event Asian swing and Lydia Ko is in the headlines as usual, this time she is a shot behind leader, South Korea's Ji Eun-hee who took a one-stroke lead into the weekend in blustery conditions at Miramar.
Ji shot a -3 69, -9 135 and you may remember she won the 2008 LPGA Championship and 2009 U.S. Women’s Open, her only two wins on the LPGA tour.
Meanwhile Ko, currently ranked #2 behind defending champion South Korea’s Inbee Park, birdied the par-5 18th for a -5 67. She has four LPGA Tour victories this year, the last a major victory last month in France in the Evian Championship.
England’s Charley Hull and China’s Lin Xi-yu, both 19, were tied for third at -7. Hull had a 69, and Lin a 70.
The only Canadian making the trip to Asia, Alena Sharp fired a second-round 73 T55 +5
The tour moves to the Blue Bay LPGA next week in China, then over to Japan weather permitting, for the Japan Classic.
