Kim, Pettersen lead Women's British Open in round 2

LPGA Tour Women's British Open leaderboard http://espn.go.com/golf/leaderboard?tour=lpga

On a rare perfect day for scoring at Turnberry South Korean Hyo-Joo Kim shot -7 65, to lead by one stroke from Lydia Ko -6 66 of New Zealand and Cristie Kerr -6 66. World #1 Inbee Park shot -3 69.

If she wins Ko will become the youngest winner of a major, seven months younger than Morgan Pressel was when she won the Kraft Nabisco back in 2007.

Round 2 is underway this morning in completely different conditions as the wind is up, the temperature has dropped and the rain is falling and most of the scores are soaring, except for Suzann Petersson who has moved into a tie for the lead -3 69 following her opening 68 -7 total. Cristie Kerr is about to finish with +4 76 to drop to -2.

I hate to talk about him, he is such a buffoon, but it is news I guess, as Donald Trump who now owns Turnberry and the famous hotel overlooking the course arrived in his helicopter and his press conference completely over shadowed what was happening on the course..

The hotel was originally owned by British Rail who built it as a resort stop on the Ayrshire coast to boost their customer numbers using their west coast rail lines, in the days when British travel was dominated by trains and buses..

Those days are long gone and I was there in the early 80's when a Japanese conglomerate shocked Scots when they bought the hotel and course and began flying plane loads of golf crazy Japanese into nearby Preswick, putting them up in the hotel and to the Scots it was sacrilegious.

Now Trump owns the whole shebang, the hotel was always expensive, more so now and worse he is planning as always to make changes to the Ailsa championship course...

Can you really imagine him as the President of the USA.. sadly he is so consumed with himself, he thinks he would be ideal....

Back to golf next....

Bryan
