Hearn just a shot behind at the Greenbrier

PGA Tour Greenbrier Classic scoreboard http://espn.go.com/golf/leaderboard?tour=pga

When you shoot even par, you expect to make the cut at any level of golf. That's what Nick Taylor and Roger Sloan and many others did, but they are all at home today since the cut fell at -2, with the field torching this Old White course at the Greenbrier Classic.

Jhonattan Vegas shot a -5 65 to tie Scott Langley (69) for the lead going into thhe weekend. They are at -9 131. 67 players made the cut, 23 are within 3 shots of the lead and one of them is David Hearn who is still looking for his first win.

Hearn birdied six of his first eight holes and shot 64 to go with his opening 68 -8 total, he seems full of confidence and says he's playing great right now. Remember the top four finishers not previously eligible for the Open Championship will earn spots next week at St. Andrews, provided they are among the top 12 and ties. Graham DeLaet did that last week, Hearn could follow his lead this week as could Vegas who won in only his second start as a pro back in 2011 and hasn't done much since.

Speaking of DeLaet, he shot 70 to make the cut on -2 however Nick Taylor and Roger Sloan just missed the cut as I mentioned Adam Hadwin at +1 missed as well.

Adding to the mix, Tiger shot 69 and is at -5 looking more like his old self.

There was a brief rain delay on Friday, and more thunderstorms are predicted throughout the weekend, so luck will play a role in the draw, but expect the winner to need something special to separate himself from the pack.
