Lake Nona is another of those beautiful resorts for the wealthy near Orlando in Florida. Several LPGA players are paid to represent the club and have homes there including Annika Sorenstam, who not surprisingly leads the celebrity category of this pro-am.
Brooke Henderson has her own Florida condo across the state at Miromar Lakes, where she has been practising in preparation for this season.
She has a new, shorter 46" driver to comply with LPGA rulings, and a new TP5x golf ball from Taylor Made although all her equipment is still from PING. You'll notice she's leaving the flag in 99% of the time this year.
She made a nice birdie to finish her -3 69 round T6, two shots behind Spaniard Gabby Lopez.
I watched her a lot on Thursday, she only had 1 blemish when she missed a short birdie putt on the par 5 12th and ended up with a 6 and had another bogey on the par 3 17th, to go with 5 birdies and 11 pars.
She hit 8/14 birdies, but 14/18 GIR and 29 putts.
update *****Round 2 is now underway, she was -2 thru 8 holes T4 at -5...
