None of the big boys are in Hawaii, the feature group is last week's winner and 2020 champion, Cameron Smith, Talor Gooch and defending champion Kevin Na.
The field is a mixture of veterans like Graeme Mc Dowell trying desperately to keep his playing status, Champion Tour players like Jerry Kelly. a strong international cast lead by Hideki Matsuyama, and a lot of young guns.
It all gets away on Oahu in the shadow of the Diamond Head extinct volcano on the private Waialae course, with it's usual reliance on the wind and accurate approach shots.
