Live : Talk about pressure ! Justin Rose has just made bogey at both the 17th and 18th while Haotong Li missed one of his own to win at the 17th to force a playoff at this spectacular Turkish Airlines Open.

Li started the day with a 3 shot lead. Rose was fighting to defend his title and regain the world #1 spot.

Both missed their birdie putts in the first playoff hole, the 18th..Rose tapped in for par while Li missed his 3 footer for par giving the title to Rose. Li 3 putted from 12 feet.

A tough day for me, honestly,” said Li. “The play-off, I saw that ball definitely go in. I think I played well the whole week but didn't hole a few putts on the last and that was it."

While Li will smart for a while and probably never forget that 3 putt, he will take solace from the fact he led by three shots after three rounds, opening with a -9 63, and played superbly all week. The 23 year old Chinese player is already a star, and I believe will be at the front of a new wave of players from his country, which as little as 40 years ago had just one golf course under that communist regime.

The victory sees Rose join Jon Rahm and Alex Noren as a multiple Rolex Series winner and represents the first successful title defence of his career. It also adds another $1.6m to his massive bank account.
