Omega European Masters... Cockerill flirts with cut line.. 36 hole results

DP World Tour : Omega European Masters Leaderboard

A double, an eagle, a birdie, and 4 bogey's all add up to +3 73, add that to an opening -4 66 and Aaron Cockerill has qualified for the weekend on the number, as the cut fell at -1.

Aaron Cockerill would like to add his name to the list of Canadians excelling on the PGA Tour.

Following along on Shotlink is not like being in one of the worlds most stunning resorts, high in the Swiss Alps at Crans-sur-Sierre GC however since I began covering golf nearly 40 years ago the web technology, especially during COVID has improved dramatically.

Aaron's short game wasn't as sharp as he'd like. I counted 3 putts missed today within 3 feet, several times he missed the green with wedge in hand he was one of only 3 players to shoot 73 on this mountain course that traditionally produces one of the lowest scoring averages on tour.

I wrote earlier about a fellow Canadian, Jerry Anderson whose -27 63 66 66 66 record stood for 19 years when it was a par 72.

The 36 hole leader England's Matt Wallace shot -8 62 today and at -14 leads the field by 4 shots, and by 13 over Cockerill.

Still coming off 4 straight missed cuts, this must be a relief, as narrow as it is for the man from Manitoba now living in Dubai where he hopes to be qualified to play at the season ending events in Abu Dhabi and then at the Tour Championship in Dubai.
