PGA Tour: Valero Texas Open..Thursday tee times
Coming off his 3rd place finish at The Dell Match Play, Corey Connors leads this weeks Canucks in San Antonio for the Valero Texas Open.
Adam Hadwin with 2 top 10's in his last 2 events is off first at 7.30am local, Roger Sloan at7.52am, Nick Taylor next at 8.47am, Adam Svensson at 9.09am, Michael Gligic at 2.15pm and past champion Corey Conners 1.09pm with hometown boy Jordan Spieth and Charlie Hoffman.
After all the golf Corey played at the Match Play last week in Austin, he has taken Monday and Tuesday off with his family and friends to unwind and recharge for today's event. He is now ranked 32nd in the world, and importantly 8th in the President Cup standings, which would make him an automatic choice, a big goal of his this year.
He is in the words of veteran Canadian Richard Zokol "on the verge of stardom, trending in the right direction". He obviously loves this TPC San Antonio Oaks course, and by the way his game which features a draw, is perfectly suited for Augusta, where he has a top 10 finish.
Rory McIlroy has decided to play this week looking to sharpen up for Augusta where he spent a couple of days this week to see the changes to the course which include 3 brand new greens.
