PGA Tour: Players Championship leaderboard here.
It's almost pointless putting up the latest leaderboard, so little golf has been played at this wiped out version of the Players Championship in NE Florida at Ponte Vedra Beach.
We know the deal so far, only half of round 1 has been played. 47 players still need to finish.
Overnight there was some light rain however here comes the bomb. A severe line of thunderstorms will hit mid morning with high winds gusting from the N, to 60mph, soaking rain , lightning all in the system.
It is so dangerous officials are not going to open the gates until 11am at the earliest for safety reasons. Facilities on the course are in danger of being damaged.
Once that system blows through, the cold winds from the N will drop temperatures and will continue at 20-35mph for the remainder of the day and into Sunday.
Saturday update: They have cleaned up the course, play began at 12pm and will continue until dark under sunny skies in very strong winds
It will be a Monday finish at best for the first time since 2005, possibly Tuesday.
