Tour Golf 101... Early wave 7am -12pm Late Wave 1pm-...dark usually 7.30pm ..
Today the opening day of the 2022 Players Championship was as expected plagued by rain and storm worries the PGA Tour officials have to deal with. There was a 1hour delay after overnight rain..11am storms created another 4 hour delay...
At 5.30pm EST while play goes on after a 4 hour delay it's obvious the "early wave" got the advantage today
Early scores in calm, soaking wet conditions left Tommy Fleetwood and Tom Hoge atop the scattered leaderboard with -6 66..Only 66 players finished their rounds
Canadians: Taylor Pendrith finished his round T7 -4 68, Corey Connors T31 -2 70 and Roger Sloan +1 73 T105.
The late wave are playing until its dark where Adam Hadwin is -1 thru 6, and Mac Hughes +1 thru 11.
Also 12 players from the early wave will need to finish their rounds as early as weather permits Friday morning (7.15 projected)
Those earlies who finished their rounds may not play again until Saturday.
That means the late have to get up early and finish their rounds on Friday with 90% chance of rain arriving again around noon and developing into T'Storms for the afternoon.
More rain for Saturday morning with heavy winds. The rain finally passes through for Saturday afternoon but the winds will freshen to 30mph..
