When Martin Kaymer won at -24 last year, they decided to toughen this Abu Dhabi GC, and they did it by growing the rough in and narrowing the fairways to the point that the rough is so thick and lush it is almost a stroke penalty for those who vventure into it.

There are 10 players in a pack right now that keep exchanging the lead. Rory, Tiger and Robert Karlsson are playing the 15th. Tiger is playing very well, is at -5 on his round -10 total. Rory is not playing his best however he has just made a birdie 2 on 15 and is -3 today -8 total ( He has 3 two's on his card today) Big Robert Karlsson is playing steadily, 2 birdies and a bogey -1 today -6 total.

Robert Rock ( he without a hat) from England is at -5 today playing 15 -10 total. Peter Hanson of Sweden shot the low round of the week so far -8 64, -9 total to get into the pack and Francesco Molinari with a -6 66 is also in contention now at -9. Paul Lawrie from Aberdeen ( he won the Open at Carnoustie than Jean Van de Velde blew) is at -4 today -9 total.

Big George Coetzee RSA, -7 65 to get to -8, Thomas Bjorn also had a 65 to get to -7.
Luke Donald will not win this week, he is at E after 73 today and Lee Westwood -4 68 is at -4.

Rory may have shot of the day, approach to 17, stiff, tap in birdie to go to -9. Tiger at -10.

Tiger safely on in 2 at 18, Rory had a wild drive nearly into pond, got his club on the back of the ball from hazard, now in behind the scoreboard and will get relief. Takes a drop in deep rough, hacks it out onto the green 35' away.

Tiger's eagle putt 40' downhill...to a foot, great lag in with a 66 -11...Now Rory big left to right breaker for birdie..to a foot. in for par -4 68 -9

Robert Rock is at -10 and he is in the middle of the fairway at 18..he lays up then hits a wedge to inside 10 feet...He will play with Tiger tomorrow whether he makes this or not... He rolls it in dead center -6 66 -11

So Robert Rock and Tiger Woods share the lead at -11 after round 3, but there are 12 players within 3 shots including Rory at -9.

The views of Torrey Pines and the Pacific Ocean are just phenomenal, gorgeous, what it must be like to live there, just outside San Diego.

Sadly the play of our 3 Canucks wasn't phenomenal, all missed the cut, although David Hearn did improve by 12 shots, however the cut fell at -2 and on top of the pack is Kyle Stanley at 62,68 -14 followed by Brent Snedeker 67,64-13. By the way my man Ernie is in at 71,70 -3
