Veterans in contention at the Manulife LPGA Classic

LPGA Tour Manulife LPGA Championship scoreboard http://espn.go.com/golf/leaderboard?tour=lpga

Two of the LPGA Tour's hardest working stars, Suzann Pettersen and Christie Kerr are the story heading into this weekend at the Manulife Classic on the relatively easy Whistling Bear course in Cambridge.

Pettersen, from Norway looking incredibly fit in her all black Nike shirt and slacks shot a -7 65 for a share of the second-round lead with Mariajo Uribe at -13. She won the last of her 14 LPGA Tour titles in 2013. She recently switched coaches from David Leadbetter to Butch Harmon

Uribe, from Colombia, shot a 66 to match Pettersen at 131, while Cristie Kerr, tied for the first-round lead after matching the course record with a 63, was a stroke back after a 69.

Yani Tseng 65 and Brittany Lang 68 are at -11 while Cheyenne Woods slipped out of the spotlight with a 73 to drop into a tie for 19th at -8 under.

As for the Canadian story, Alena Sharp is tied for 23rd at -7 under after a 70 but Brooke Henderson missed the cut by a stroke with rounds of 71 and 70 along with sister Brittany Henderson 72-70.
