DeLaet shoots 64, just a shot behind Harman at Travelers

PGA Tour Travelers Championship scoreboard http://espn.go.com/golf/leaderboard?tour=pga

Graham DeLaet has a few things going for him these days and it's showing in his fine play here this week. After rounds of 67, 66 he added a sparking 64 with 5 birdies and an eagle, just missing a putt for 63 on the final hole. That has him T2 with Bubba Watson (68) at -13, a shot behind diminutive lefty Brian Harman, 66, 65 65 -14.

Delaet plays well on this TPC  Highlands course, he was in a three-way tie for first place with Watson entering the final round two years ago before finishing third. Canadian golf fans know he had back surgery in 2011 but is feeling better. “The last couple months I’ve been moving really well and feeling a lot better,” He said. “My golf game is coming around too, which is nice.”

What is also nice is often having wife Ruby on his bag, it was her birthday Saturday and oh yes, she's pregnant. They are expecting their first children, twins, in December, and today they are expecting their first win on the PGA Tour !

Like I said he has a few things going for him these days, including a spot in the Open Championship for the top 4 finishers not already qualified at this year's event, for the first time.

Brandt Snedeker, Paul Casey and Zach Johnson are at -11. Snedeker had a 63 to match the best round of the day, and Casey and Johnson shot 64.

Today there is a storm moving into to Connecticut, so play will be threesomes, going off the first and 10th tees beginning at 11:30 a.m. The course is already soft leading to low scoring and I expect more of the same today..
