After a week in Cambridge at the Manulife Classic the LPGA Tour has moved back into the States at their second major of the year, their PGA Championship at the venerable,Westchester CC in Harrison NY., but is our 17 year old Canadian Brooke Henderson who is grabbing the headlines after a brilliant -7 66 sees her just one shot off the lead held by south Korea's Jenny Shin at -8 65. Henderson had a 3 putt bogey at the 18th or she would be leading.
In fact the top 10 players are all from different countries, including 40 year old Aussie Karrie Webb at -5 68.
Americans Brittany Lincicome, Lexi Thompson, Cristie Kerr and Stacy Lewis are four strokes back at 70 after a hot muggy day. Two-time defending champion Inbee Park shot a 71, Lydia Ko 72, and last week's winner Suzann Pettersen had a 74
Alena Sharp had a nice -1 72, Sue Kim and Rebecca Lee-Bentham will be disappointed with their +5 78's.
