PGA Tour
The first round was suspended by darkness with 30 players yet to finish the round at Riviera at the Northern Trust Open .
Phil Mickelson is the clubhouse leader. buoyed with confidence after his win last week, he finished off a -5 66 with a chip in at the last, and is looking like the old Phil, creative shot making like 300 yard drivers off the deck, the blade putter co-operating, the smile readily available... Remember 3 weeks ago this same guy was shooting 77 to MC, fiddling with a belly putter.. confidence makes a world of difference..

Both Canadians completed their rounds.. David Hearn is in a large group at -1 70 which includes world #1 Luke Donald, and Graham Delaet has a very colourful scorecard with 3 birdies, 3 bogey's and a double at the par 5 11th for a +2 73 T55
