Kenny Perry was on fire for a second straight day, making 11 birdies to shoot a Champions Tour career-best 10-under-par 62 on Saturday. Perry’s round matched the course record at the Talon Course at TwinEagles.
More importantly, his 36-hole total of 18-under 126 established the all-time lowest score in relation to par for the first two rounds in Champions Tour history. Perry’s number easily shattered the previous ACE Group Classic tournament record by four strokes.
Larry Mize, the first-round leader of the event, backed up his 62 yesterday with a 5-under 67 today but despite being bogey free for the first two days, he trails Perry by three strokes
