PGA Tour: AT&T Byron Nelson Leaderboard
Veteran South Korean S.Y. Noh set the pace, needing an eagle at the par5 18th for 59, settling for the lay up birdie -11 60, on a hot sunny day in McKinny, Texas at Byron Nelson's course TPC Craig Ranch.
You need to go down to T104 to find the first score (72) over par. Two 63's. Six 64's, Seven 65's.. you get the picture
With more hot muggy weather in store for today and the weekend and the possibility (67%) of TStorms on Saturday with not much wind, there is not much the officials can do except tuck the pins to save the course.
Canadians:
Mac Hughes: T10 -6 65 Played the back nine first, bogey free, 1 birdie 64. Coming home with an eagle, 3 birdies, bogey free 31 for one of his best starts of this season.
Adam Hadwin: T30 -4 67 Also began on 10th, 1 bogey, 1 birdie E35, but then bogey free, 4 birdies coming in 31.
Roger Sloan: T46 -3 68 He was out early with a rare PGA Tour start this year, off the 1st with a bogey free, 3 birdie 33. His back none had his lone bogey at the par 4 12th, 1 birdie, all the rest pars..
Michael Gligic: T62 -2 69 is right on what I expect to be the cut line when round 2 begins. He recovered from bogey's at 1 and 3 with birdies at 5 and 9 E36. Then a bogey free, 2 birdie back nine -2 33.
In 18 events this 2022/ 2023 season he has missed 13 cuts, with 1 WD. His best finish T13 at the team event Zurich Classic of New Orleans. He clearly is struggling at this level, so far ranked 200th Fed Ex Cup and 412th in the world.
Birdies are the order of play here this week, go low or go home could be the motto..
