Paddy Harrington won 3 majors in his long career, the Open in 2007, 2008 and the PGA Championship in 2008. Three majors in 13 months, PGA Tour and PGA of America player of the Year, #3 in the world amongst his trophy's
Although he has now won 31 titles world wide, to be honest he disappeared into golf's vast wilderness for year's after those 2 season's at the top, always tinkering with his swing, always a legend in Europe and at home in Ireland.
He was given the great honour of captaining the 2020 European Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits after a career long association with the team.
His 50th birthday, as it has for so many, gave him a new lease on life as a rookie on the Senior Circuit, or PGA Tour Champions in 2022 back amongst his peers, all the young guns gone as weekly opponents, and he has never looked back, winning the US Senior Open that year from Steve Stricker, another who has benefitted from joining this tour.
Harrington leads second Major of the season, Kitchen Aid is the sponsor of the Senior PGA Championship. His course record -8 64 is 2 shots clear.
