CJ CUP at Shadow Creek Friday leaderboard here.
While watching the guys all decked out in winter wear at the Scottish Championship at the luxurious Fairmont St Andrews, just a couple of miles down the road from the Old Course, I was getting a little chilly until I turned over to the PGA Tour, in it's second week in the sunny warmth of the desert surrounding Las Vegas at the equally luxurious Shadow Creek course, where members need at quarter of a million US dollars credit just to get an invite to play. It's the CJ CUP which is normally at the Nine Bridges GC on JeJu island in Seoul South Korea.
After a 20 hour flight from London where he won the BMWPGA Championship, and only 5 hours sleep a very grumpy little Tyrrell Hatton went out a played the course he'd never seen, -5 through 5 holes on his way to a record tying -7 65 for a one shot lead over Xander Schauffele's 66, with big Jon Rahm in a group at 67.
CANADIANS: Nick Taylor was the best of the four with -1 71 T22. Mac Hughes is back after two weeks at home in North Carolina where he and Jenna are expecting their 2nd boy late in November. He got around in +1 73. Adam Hadwin is +3 75 and Corey Connors is off to a slow start +5 77.
Next week another imported tournament due to COVID its the ZOZO Championship from Tokyo to the Sherwood CC in Thousand Oaks, California where Tiger Woods is set to defend, then it's the Houston Open and then the Masters in November for something different !
