This ZOZO Championship will return to South Korea in it's original time slot next year if the world is in a healthier place than it is right now, that's good news for the billionaire Japanese sponsor, for golf in Korea and for the tournament itself.
Sherwood CC and it's $15m facelift stepped up to the plate on short notice, so no surprise the strong field in ideal conditions birdied it into submission, with Patrick Cantlay and his 67 65 68 65 -23 passing Jon Rahm 68 67 63 68 -22 and Justin Thomas 65 65 67 69 -22 for the win.
Other big names were well back, Rory T17 -15, Tiger T72nd -1 and Phil after his win on the Senior circuit last week was 2nd last after a closing 78.
Corey Connors gained some confidence as he turned in the best Canadian result T8 69 67 68 66 -18, Mac Hughes T41 67 72 68 70-11, Nick Taylor T63 70 68 71 74 -5 and Adam Hadwin dug himself a hole with an opening 75, 67 70 71 -5.
Next week it's the Bermuda Championship which has a weak field. Michael Gligic, David Hearn and Roger Sloan are in the field while all of the big boys are off before the Houston Open, then the Masters where there will be 4 Canadians for the first time, Connors, Hadwin, Taylor and Mike Weir.
