Brooke Henderson back on form in Thailand

LPGA Tour Honda LPGA Thailand leaderboard http://www.lpga.com/tournaments/honda-lpga-thailand/leaderboard

After missing her first cut since 2015 last week, Brooke Henderson took advantage of a rare weekend off to work on her game and came out of the gate this week at the Honda LPGA Thailand with 7 birdies, including a front nine of 32 to post a -5 67, just a shot out of the lead held by one of Thailand's stars, Moirya Jutanugarn -6 66, Americans Lexi Thompson and Jessica Korda and Aussie Minjee Lee.

Only 23 players were over par at the Siam Country Club, including Alena Sharp +3 75.

Brooke had this to say post round. "Yeah, you know, it was a really great start. Felt good, especially coming out of last week. I was happy to get a lot of birdies right out of the gate and feel comfortable again. Unfortunately I gave two back, but I was able to fight pretty hard on the back nine and finish at -5"

She used 29 putts, which is down from the 32 and 33 last week, although still a little high, she did make at least 3 curling 15 -20 footers, and she talked a bit about learning to read Bermuda grass greens.

"Spending a lot time in Florida I’ve been able to learn all about grain and how to read putts like that. Coming from Canada I didn’t really know much about that, but last few years I’ve definitely learned a lot. This heat is pretty similar to Florida. Actually quite a bit hotter.”

Chon Buri in Thailand is 12 hours ahead of EST.

The leaderboard is jam packed so we'll see who stays with the pace when they tee it up for round 2 in a few hours.
