To save confusion the opening two rounds of this RSM Classic down in the resort of Sea Island in Georgia are played on two courses. The Plantation is a par 72 and the Seaside is a par 70.
There are 5 Canadians in the field including defending champion MacKenzie Hughes who has opened with E 70 on the Seaside.
Rookie Ben Silverman shot -5 67 T8 on the Plantation, while Nick Taylor is -4 68 T18, Corey Connors -3 69 T28 on the same course. David Hearn was -3 67 T28 on the Seaside.
The leader with a stunning -9 63 on the Plantation is previous winner, American Chris Kirk for a one-shot lead over Joel Dahmen and a two-shot edge over Hudson Swafford, Brian Gay and Jason Kokrak on a sunny day of low scoring.
This is the last official event before the 6 week break PGA Tour break over Christmas and New Year.
