Tiger Woods pleads guilty to reckless driving, avoids jail

Tiger Woods accompanied by his lawyer worked out a deal with the prosecution at Palm Beach County, pleading guilty to reckless driving, while the judge dropped the more serious charge of DUI.

As a result he goes on probation for a year under the first offender program, but could go to jail if he violates the plea agreement.

Last March he was found passed out in his car, subsequently found to have been smoking weed, and had alcohol in his system. He claimed after the arrest that he had an unexpected reaction to prescription medication for his ailing back.

The State Attorney's Office said Woods was not treated differently than anyone else in similar circumstances would be treated.
