He's not getting a lot of air time right now, but that's about to change this weekend at the Italian Open in Milan, the 5th in the new 8 event Rolex Series at the Race to Dubai.
Slightly built Canadian Austin Connelly has posted 68 65 -9 total after 2 rounds and is T6 going into this weekend.
Connelly hasn't had a bogey this week, adding 6 more today with nines of 33 32.
The leaders at -13 are veteran Aussie Marcus Fraser who shot a season best -9 62, and England's Matt Wallace 64 65.
In the Race to Dubai which has 3 playoff events remaining after this week, England's Eddie Pepperall who is currently tied with Connelly at -9 is the leader followed by Spaniards Sergio Garcia, Jon Rahm and Rafa Cabrera Bello. http://www.europeantour.com/europeantour/racetodubai/index.html
Oddly no Spaniard with the exception of Seve Ballesteros when it was called the Order of Merit has won this title.
They will visit Turkey next, then to South Africa for the Nedbank Challenge before the season finale in Dubai. All events have a prize fund exceeding US $7,000,000.
