Presidents Cup : USA routs Internationals

2017 Presidents Cup complete scoreboard https://www.presidentscup.com/leaderboard.html

I turned the sound down, but to be fair what else could Johnny Miller do but gloat, so bad was the USA team's beating of a bedraggled International squad. He has after all presided over all of the European Team's recent thrashings of his fellow countrymen in the Ryder Cup.

Like many I got on with a beautiful sunny day in southern Ontario after Kevin Chappell halved the first match with Marc Leishman, then Daniel Berger went 3 up with three to play against Si Woo Kim in the fourth match to clinch the Cup.

The final score was 19-11.

Fittingly Phil Mickelson got the final point. He has played in every Presidents Cup and in his100th career match (including Ryder Cups) he beat Adam Hadwin, 2 and 1.

Quotes: This is a juggernaut of a U.S. team,” said Nick Price, in his third and final stint of the International captain “They’re an overpowering team that played some phenomenal golf. It was tough to watch, especially being on the receiving end

Daniel Berger: “Our goal from the minute we got here was to crush them as bad as we can. I hope that we close them out today and we go out there tomorrow and beat them even worse.”

Adam Scott: It was a bit of a slaughtering this week,” after he won his first point of the week beating Brooks Koepka

The facts: USA have a 10-1-1 record with the only loss at Royal Melbourne in 1998 and the matches return to Australia in two years. Needless to say this has to change, the ratings will reflect that this morning. NBC / Golf Channel just took another very expensive bath.
