After all the hullaballoo about what Bernhard Langer would possibly do without being able to anchor his long putter, nothing has changed for the always fit 58-year-old German star who has called Boca Raton home for over 25 years.
Langer followed his opening -10 62 with a 66 yesterday to lap the field, increasing his lead to seven strokes at the Champions’Tour Chubb Classic at TwinEagles in Naples.
It's the largest in the event after 36 holes. At -16 128, he’s closing in on the tournament-record -20 that he set in 2011 and Kenny Perry matched in 2012.
Langer is going for his 3rd win here and since he turned 50 has 25 victories amongst his peers, who are playing for second place again this week.
Rod Spittle T20 -4, while Stephen Ames T33 -1.
