Donald needs a big weekend, Simpson remains the strong favourite

After 2 rounds Webb Simpson 68,69 -7 and Luke Donald 66,71 -7 are both tied at 137, five shots behind 3 leaders at -12, Justin Leonard (63) Henrik Stensen (64) and Bio Kim (65)

Good news in a way for Simpson in his pursuit of the money title as he stays close to Donald and remember he leads by $363,029 so the story remains the same, Luke needs to go low this weekend and Webb needs to slip up, a tall order for Donald who is battling a sinus infection.

Play returns to the Magnolia course for the weekend for everybody and David Hearn 71,67 -6 continues to improve on his 102 position on the ML.

Stephen Ames,Matt McQuillan and Chris Baryla all missed the cut which fell at -3

There is a real dog fight going on at the bottom of the ML. . The players at Nos. 123, 124 and 125,D.J. Trahan, Bobby Gates and James Driscoll -- all made the cut.

Every player has a story this week in relation to the money list, for example Justin Leonard who is at 144 and has had a mediocre year thought he was secure for 2012, but a misprint in the media guide said he wasn't. After some research by Tour staff it was confirmed he is good through next year. He gets 10 years for his 1997 Open championship win and as of 2003 the PGA tour started adding 1 year to that for each win and Leonard has 5 wins, thus his 2012 status.
