Ted Potter Jr. had one of his career rounds, a -9 62 on Monterey Peninsula to catch Dustin Johnson, who shot 70 at Pebble Beach at -14,  going into today's final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am.  They lead the field by 2 shots.

He made bogey's on his last two holes, or would have had a shot at the magical "59". The lefty turned professional in 2002 and worked his way through various tours before getting to the PGA. He won the Greenbrier Classic in 2012, missed 2 years recovering from a broken ankle and qualified this year after finishing in the top 25 on the Web.com.

All six Canucks missed the cut which fell at -3. Mike Weir opened with a 77 and fought back hard with 67 69 but his -2 total fell just a shot short.

Nick Taylor was +1, Corey Connors +3, Mac Hughes and Ben Silverman +4 and David Hearn +6.

Watch for Jason Day who won two weeks ago at the Farmers Insurance and is at -12 69 65 69, and Jon Rahm who is in great form at -11 and will go to world #1 if he wins.
